Could you imagine not being able to help your child achieve any level of independence? Could you imagine being faced with raising or saving thousands of dollars just to purchase your child a specialized walker, car seat or toy? Could you imagine being denied over and over again for insurance to help you give your child a safe seat to sit upright in or an opportunity to play?I never could imagine until I had Lorelle and even with great private insurance and supplemental insurance, we were denied specialized equipment, seating, and wheelchairs for her. Yes, Lorelle had disabilities and pre-existing conditions but she was still alive and thriving. No matter what her issue she deserved a chance to have the appropriate equipment to grow as her life allowed. Trust me, I wish I could have gone to Target or somewhere to get her a high chair or stroller but her strong but afflicted body could not be supported without adaptations.Thank God for Matthew’s Lending Library who blessed us with the equipment she needed to sit up, walk and have stroller rides. Insurance said NO, I did not have the finances to purchase the items on my own BUT Matthew’s said YES!Please consider donating to this necessary non-profit charity. You may not ever imagine you will need their services but neither did I! I am so grateful! Even though Lorelle no longer is with us, we still support Matthew’s Lending Library because there are other children and families that will benefit as we have.Every dollar raised is donated to Matthew’s Lending Library, a non-profit charity that provides specialized equipment and adaptive toys to children and young adults with special needs.
